Switchboard Brand guidelines

Project Summary

The objective of this project was to develop comprehensive branding guidelines for SwitchBoard, a dynamic and innovative dating app startup. The branding guidelines would serve as a strategic framework to establish a strong and consistent brand identity across all touchpoints, ensuring a memorable and engaging user experience. The guidelines will encompass visual elements, messaging tone, and communication standards, facilitating a cohesive brand presence that resonates with the target audience and differentiates SwitchBoard within the competitive dating app market.

Typeface: The font used in all different platforms, both print and digital is Poppins. This should be used for marketing material as well as headings and subheadings within the app and website. Type sizes can vary based on screen size and device capabilities and can also vary depending on the type of marketing material.

Open Sans is the font that should be used for all body copy for both print material and digital platforms

Color Palette: Selecting fun colors for the SwitchBoard involved a careful curation of lively and energetic hues that evoke a sense of excitement and playfulness, enhancing the overall user experience. Vibrant tones, thoughtfully chosen to reflect the app's creative approach to dating, infuse each element with a touch of spontaneity.

Logo Design: The idea of the logo is two people connecting. The two colors represent two opposite people who are attracted to each other. The lines across the two people are the lines of a switchboard going from one person to another. The whole feel is contrast and connection.

Illustrations: For illustrations used in designs, we want to create people and objects that are mostly abstract. They should not look like a perfect, detailed cartoon, but should be more organic in design. Use as many colors from the color palette as possible and use mostly organic lines and shapes.


User Interfaces: The mobile app UI design for SwitchBoard exudes a playful and imaginative charm, infusing every interaction with a sense of excitement and creativity. Vibrant and dynamic visuals, coupled with a user-friendly layout, transform the dating experience into a delightful journey of discovery and connection.

For the web design. A simple landing page was created to encourage users to engage with the mobile application for the full intended experience.


Social Media Marketing Collateral: Colors used should only come from the chosen color palette. Design elements should use mostly organic lines and shapes. No shar lines or objects should be used.

The overall design should be flowy and abstract in composition. For posts that use a photo, it must take up the majority of the overall design. The background or shape being used should be the accent of the design and the image should remain the focal point.
